On 19 April 2026, in Antalya, TURKPA Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan delivered a speech at the Turkology Panel discussion dedicated to the centennial of the First Turkological Congress, titled “A Century of Language and Identity: From the Baku Turkology Congress to Turkic Integration,” held on the final day of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The Turkology Panel was organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.

In his speech, Ambassador Hasan referred to the historic First Turkology Congress of 1926, highlighting its enduring impact from that time to the present day. He emphasized the strategic foundations of cooperation and collaboration laid by earlier generations, their influence on the development of the Turkic language and a common Alphabet, as well as the importance of the lasting messages of unity and equality conveyed by the Congress held in Baku to the present day.

Furthermore, Secretary General noted the impact of these developments on the historical decisions being taken today by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the Heads of its Member States. He highlighted the successful organization of the Turkology Panel dedicated to the centennial of the First Turkological Congress, emphasizing its significance within these decisions and its contribution to how far the Turkic World has come.

The Secretary General underscored the strong political will of the Leaders of the Turkic States. He noted that, as a result of the Gabala Summit, held at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the centennial of the First Turkological Congress is being commemorated at a high level today. He stressed that the historic Congress held in Baku, which brought together 131 participants, charted a path that continues to shape the present and has placed significant responsibility on TURKPA, the OTS, and other fraternal organizations.

He further highlighted key achievements, including the declaration of 15 December as the Day of the World Turkic Language Family and the adoption of a Common Turkic Alphabet consisting of 34 letters by the Heads of the Turkic States. Ambassador Hasan emphasized the importance of the strategic economic and political decisions taken by the Heads of the Turkic States in strengthening the brotherhood, unity, and equality of the Turkic world.

Ambassador Ramil Hasan specifically underlined that the historical path initiated by the ancestors in 1926 is being successfully continued today by the Heads of State for the benefit of future generations, and that the entire Turkic world takes pride in these achievements.

The panel also brought together the heads of fraternal Turkic cooperation institutions, including the Secretary General of the OTS Mr. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of TURKSOY Mr. Sultan Raev, the President of the Turkic Academy Mr. Shahin Mustafayev, and the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Ms. Aktoty Raimkulova.

Secretary General was accompanied by his Deputy Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali and the Secretary of the Commision Ms. Aynura Abutalibova.
