TURKPA attends Commemorative Event on the occasion of Democracy and National Unity Day of Türkiye

On 15 July 2026, Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali participated in a commemorative event dedicated to 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day of Türkiye, organized by the Embassy of Türkiye in Azerbaijan in cooperation with the Yunus Emre Institute and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by Ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan H. E. Birol Akgün, staff of the Embassy, members of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, representatives of international organizations, and other officials.

The speakers underscored the role of unity between the state and the people in countering the attempted coup, noting that the events of July 15 became a symbol of the defence of democratic values and assumed broader international significance. Participants also expressed their appreciation for the efforts of President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in safeguarding democratic institutions and preserving national unity during those challenging days. They further expressed their appreciation to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for their steadfast support and solidarity with the state and people of Türkiye.

The participants paid tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives on the night of July 15, honouring them with respect.
