CICA Secretariat shifted to a new building

The Senior Officials’ Committee (SOC) meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is being held in Astana. TurkPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov, who is participating at the gathering, also attended the ceremony of inauguration of the new building of the CICA Secretariat and congratulated Ambassador Gong Jianwei, CICA Executive Director on this occasion. The idea of convening the CICA was first proposed by H.E. Mr Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on 5 October 1992, at the 47th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Ever since CICA has dealt with the issues relating to creation of a security structure that encompasses the whole of Asia. Jandos Asanov served as the first Executive Director of CICA in 2006-2008.
