TURKPA participated in the 5th Meeting of the Coordination Committee of Turkic Cooperation Organizations

The TURKPA delegation, headed by Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er, participated in the Fifth Meeting of the Coordination Committee of Turkic Cooperation Organizations held in Istanbul on 12 March 2025. The meeting was hosted by Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliev and included the participation of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova. This year’s meeting marked the first-time participation of Deputy Foreign Ministers of the OTS member states Samir Sharifov (Azerbaijan), Alibek Bakayev (Kazakhstan), Meder Abakirov (Kyrgyzstan), Ayşe Berris Ekinci (Türkiye), Babur Usmanov (Uzbekistan) and additionally Ambassador of Hungary to Türkiye Viktor Matis, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Türkiye Mekan Ishanguliyev, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mustafa Lakadamyalı and Senior Adviser of the Turkic Investment Fund Erhan Türbedar were present. The meeting commenced with an opening speech of the Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliev and followed by the statements of the representatives of Turkic cooperation organizations. In his address, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er provided an overview of TURKPA's executive bodies, fields of activity, recent initiatives and upcoming plans. He also addressed the activities of Turkic cooperation organizations from the perspective of their shared features and complementary natures, while also responding to the questions posed by participants regarding TURKPA. The meeting concluded with remarks and perspectives on Turkic cooperation activities shared by the senior officials and diplomatic representatives.
