TURKPA EOM had meetings with heads of political parties in Uzbekistan

On 25-26 October 2024, TURKPA Election Observation Mission held meetings with the heads of the political parties contesting the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in Tashkent. In the course of these meetings, interlocutors of the Mission – Aktam Khaitov, Head of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Alisher Kadyrov, Head of the "Milliy Tiklanish" Democratic Party, Ulugbek Inoyatov, Head of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Robakhon Makhmudova, Head of the "Adolat" Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and Abdushukur Khamzayev, Head of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan informed the Mission on their views about the pre-electoral environment and expectations from the 27 October elections. The Mission wished success in holding fair and transparent elections. The TURKPA Election Observation Mission is composed of the parliamentarians from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye – Ahliman Amiraslanov, Aghalar Valiyev (Azerbaijan), Kudaibergen Bexultanov (Kazakhstan), Azizbek Tursunbaev (Kyrgyzstan), Osman Mesten, Mahmut Rıdvan Nazırlı, Kadim Durmaz, Harun Özgür Yıldızlı, Filiz Kılıç, Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu (Türkiye), TURKPA Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er, parliamentary staff members and other representatives of the TURKPA Secretariat. The Mission is headed by the member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Osman Mesten.
