TURKPA attended an opening ceremony of the headquarters of CICA

On 2 July 2025, Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA Talgat Aduov took part in the official opening ceremony of the headquarters of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), held in Astana. The event was attended by officials, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Astana, as well as representatives of international organizations. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and CICA Secretary General Kairat Sarybay unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the opening of the Organization’s head office. The ceremony was followed by the raising of the CICA flag. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the opening of CICA’s headquarters in the capital of Kazakhstan is a significant and historic event, which has received broad support from the international community as a timely step forward towards consolidating efforts to strengthen stability and security in the region. The Head of State emphasized that the growing geopolitical tensions and the weakening of multilateral principles pose challenges to both regional and global stability. In conclusion, President Tokayev wished success to all CICA participants and expressed sincere appreciation to Azerbaijan for its high-level chairmanship of the Organization and tireless efforts to foster dialogue, trust, and partnership, as well as for its contribution to the institutional development of CICA. Secretary General Kairat Sarybay, in turn, emphasized the importance of the new headquarters as a symbol of CICA’s dedication to dialogue and cooperation in Asia. He congratulated member states and thanked them for strengthening trust, partnerships, and the Organization’s development.
