The Baku meeting of Secretaries General of parliaments took place

On 6 June 2024, the Baku meeting of the Secretaries General of parliaments within the frame of the Thirteenth Plenary Session of TURKPA was hosted by the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Secretaries General of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farid Hajiyev, of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Renat Aitayev, of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Alaibek Alymbayev, of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Talip Uzun and of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kudrat Nurullayev (in an online format), as well as representatives of member parliaments, Hungarian National Assembly and TURKPA Secretariat took part at the meeting.
Welcoming the guests, Chief of Staff of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farid Hajiyev stated that the Thirteenth Plenary Session of TURKPA coincided with the historical period emerged by new realities. The Chief of Staff of the Milli Majlis noted that TURKPA enjoys a great reputation in member and partner states and beyond their borders. “The Organization promotes global parliamentary dialogue in effective cooperation with the most influential international organizations of the world and plays an important role in the development of parliamentary diplomacy. TURKPA occupies its worthy place not only in the Turkic world, but also in the modern international relations system,” Mr. Hajiyev added.
Expressing views on the theme of the Thirteenth Plenary Session of TURKPA, the participants touched on the importance of active use of the potential of parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation in implementation of the green agenda. They discussed the cooperation between the administrations of parliaments, particularly expanding inter-parliamentary experience and information exchange, organization of joint events and interaction of press services.
The event continued with exchange of views on the issues of common interest.
