Speaker of the Parliament of the TRNC H.E. Ziya Öztürkler visits the TURKPA International Secretariat

On 25 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Ziya Öztürkler, Speaker of the Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), visited the International Secretariat of TURKPA and held a meeting with the Secretary General of TURKPA, Ambassador Ramil Hasan, during his stay in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, to participate in the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).

Welcoming the distinguished guest and his delegation, the TURKPA Secretary General emphasized the importance attached to relations with the TRNC and highlighted TURKPA’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with the Parliament of the TRNC, which holds observer status within the Assembly. Ambassador Ramil Hasan noted that TURKPA would continue to provide comprehensive support to the activities of the TRNC and extend all necessary assistance in this regard.

Expressing his appreciation for the warm reception, Mr. Ziya Öztürkler commended the notable progress achieved by TURKPA in recent years. He underscored the active role of the TURKPA International Secretariat in facilitating the participation of the Parliament of the TRNC in various events and initiatives carried out within the framework of mutual cooperation and conveyed his gratitude to the Secretary General and the Secretariat staff for their efforts. Mr. Öztürkler further expressed confidence that cooperation between the parties would continue to deepen in the coming years, reaffirming the Parliament of the TRNC’s readiness to contribute and support this process.

The meeting was attended on behalf of TURKPA by Deputy Secretaries General Mr. Talgat Aduov and Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali, Commission Secretary Dr. Kadir Yaman, and Legal Officer Mr. Azar Mammadov.
