Speaker of Milli Majlis received TURKPA Secretary General

On 29 December 2025, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mrs. Sahiba Gafarova, received the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), Ambassador Ramil Hasan. During the meeting, held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, the Secretary General provided a detailed briefing on TURKPA’s activities carried out over the past two and a half months, the steps undertaken, the Action Plan for 2026, the issue of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s accession to TURKPA, as well as other important initiatives aimed at strengthening unity and equality among the brotherly states. In turn, H.E. Mrs. Sahiba Gafarova expressed her appreciation to the Secretary General of TURKPA for the active and fruitful work accomplished within a short period of time. She underscored that the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan highly values TURKPA’s activities within the framework of interparliamentary cooperation, which serve the common spiritual unity of the Turkic peoples and constitute one of the key directions of parliamentary diplomacy. The Speaker also noted that the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as the host country, will continue to provide comprehensive support for the future activities of TURKPA.
