Rector of Süleyman Demirel University paid courtesy visit to TURKPA Secretary General

On 11 March 2026, the Rector of Süleyman Demirel University, Prof. Mehmet Saltan, paid courtesy visit to the Secretary General of TURKPA, Ambassador Ramil Hasan, during his official visit to Baku.

Expressing his sincere gratitude for the warm reception, Prof. Mehmet Saltan provided information on the establishment of Süleyman Demirel University, founded in 1992 in the city of Isparta. During the meeting, Prof. Saltan noted that the university became a member of the Turkish Universities Union of the Organization of Turkic States (TURKUNIB) in 2025. He also highlighted the current cooperation of Süleyman Demirel University with other higher education institutions across the Turkic world. In this regard, he particularly emphasized the active participation of students from Turkic states in the university’s academic and social life.

In turn, TURKPA Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan, sharing information about the upcoming activities of TURKPA, underlined the important role of youth in strengthening the social foundations of the Turkic world. He also reaffirmed TURKPA’s readiness to provide the necessary support for further strengthening ties in the academic field among the Turkic states.

Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on prospects for future cooperation. In this context, the TURKPA Secretary General was invited to visit Süleyman Demirel University, as well as hold a joint conference at the university, and meet with the students.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Secretary General Muhammet Alper Hayali, Secretary of the Comision Kadir Yaman, and Public Relations Officer Fidan Majidli on behalf of TURKPA International Secretariat.
