On 10 December 2025, the TURKPA delegation led by Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan met with Executive Director of the Budapest Office of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Ambassador Balázs Hendrich within the framework of the official visit to Budapest, Hungary.
Mr. Hendrich warmly welcomed the TURKPA delegation and expressed his sincere pleasure at their visit.
Emphasising the importance of joint cooperation on the harmonization of legislative frameworks among member countries he underlined the crucial role of the swift ratification in national parliaments of the decisions adopted by the Organization of Turkic States under the coordination of TURKPA. He also highlighted the potential of utilizing the capacities of the Hungarian Office, which holds the status of the OTS Office to the European Union, to organize conferences, seminars, and panel discussions in the near future within the 2026 working year under the joint coordination and partnership of TURKPA and the OTS European Office. These events would address numerous topics of common interest reflected in the Middle Corridor initiative and in the Gabala Declaration of the OTS.
Mentioned ideas were welcomed and supported by both the TURKPA Secretary General and Ambassador Balázs Hendrich. The inclusion of such projects in the upcoming working plan was also discussed.
The importance of implementing short-term internship programs was likewise underlined. In this context, productive discussions were held on enabling the diplomatic staff of the OTS European Office to undertake internships at TURKPA, and the staff of the TURKPA International Secretariat to participate in exchange programs at the OTS Office in Hungary. Both sides stressed that the continued rapid development of mutual cooperation and elevating it to a new stage should serve to unite TURKPA, as the parliamentary dimension, with the OTS, as the intergovernmental organization, in support of the political decisions, declarations, and shared interests endorsed by the Heads of State of the brotherly countries.
Ambassador Ramil Hasan expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended during his first official visit to the Office. He underlined that the shared strategic interests of the Turkic world open new prospects for cooperation and highlighted the importance of realizing this potential through joint initiatives. Ambassador proposed that the Budapest Office actively engage in activities of TURKPA, particularly within the framework of coordination mechanisms among member states. He noted with appreciation the participation of Mr. Attila Tilki, Head of the Delegation of Hungary to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, in the coordination meeting held in November in Istanbul during the OSCE PA Autumn Meeting. Ambassador Ramil Hasan also extended an invitation to visit TURKPA International Secretariat in Baku for further consultations and enhanced collaboration.
Ambassador Balázs Hendrich expressed his pleasure at the meeting, emphasizing that the Budapest Office maintains an open-door approach to all Turkic institutions. He underlined that close cooperation is essential for achieving the long-term goals of the Turkic World Vision 2040 and noted that the Organization of Turkic States is developing dynamically each day. Surrounded by highly dedicated professionals working on major initiatives, he encouraged them to consider the Office as their joint home in Europe, operating with the full support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister of Hungary. Mr. Hendrich highlighted that action-oriented plans and initiatives require strong parliamentary engagement, acknowledging that many strategic issues such as energy cooperation among member states naturally lead to collaboration with TURKPA. He noted that all member states possess significant advantages in the energy sector and stressed the importance of maintaining focus on priority areas. He further emphasized the value of exchange programs and people-to-people contacts, which strengthen institutional capacity and deepen understanding of the European Union’s operational environment. Ambassador Hendrich added that they would be pleased to observe the activities of TURKPA Commissions and welcomed the growing synergy between sibling organizations working jointly on key projects. He concluded by expressing gratitude for the visit.
During the meeting Secretary General was accompanied by his deputies Mr. Talgat Aduov, Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali, Secretary of Commission Ms. Aynura Abutalibova and Chief of Protocol Yadigar Mammadov.
