On 13 November 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Tamás Torma, paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), Ambassador Ramil Hasan. Ambassador Torma congratulated Mr. Hasan on the commencement of his tenure as TURKPA Secretary General and extended his sincere wishes for continued success in his important mission. Expressing his appreciation to Ambassador Torma, Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan highlighted the role of Hungary as an important partner for TURKPA and a brotherly country whose engagement brings additional value to the Turkic cooperation platform. He emphasized that Hungary serves as a dialogue bridge between the Turkic States and Europe, contributing to the promotion of shared values and mutual understanding. Secretary General also briefed Mr. Torma on several directions for the Assembly’s future work, particularly the organization of meetings of the heads and members of delegations from member and observer parliaments within the framework of the meetings of international parliamentary organizations, as well as the holding of annual informal meetings of the Speakers of TURKPA parliaments. He underlined that the participation of Hungary in these initiatives is welcomed and considered important for TURKPA. During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on the protection of common interests and the expansion of inter-parliamentary collaboration. They also discussed the path forward for developing new perspectives of cooperation in areas of mutual benefit, including parliamentary diplomacy and joint initiatives within international organizations. The meeting was also attended by First Secretary of the Embassy of Hungary Ms. Monika Felföldi, Deputy Secretary General Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali and Secretary of the Commission Ms. Aynura Abutalibova from the TURKPA International Secretariat.
