The Fourth Meeting of Women Parliamentarians Group titled “Women's Participation in Education in TURKPA Member States: Good Practices and Solutions” was convened on 11 June 2025 in Astana as part of the proceedings of the Fourteenth Plenary Session of TURKPA. The meeting was presided over by the Head of the Group, Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tamam Jafarova. The event brought together women parliamentarians from the member states, fostering dialogue and exchange on the session’s central theme. Remarks were delivered by member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhuldyz Suleimenova, member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bibigul Zheksenbai, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Cholpon Sultanbekova and member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Zeynep Yıldız. Addressing the critical importance of women's participation in education across the Turkic World, the participants emphasized the transformative impact of inclusive and equitable access to education for women and girls. They acknowledged significant progress achieved in the TURKPA Member States through national strategies, scholarship programs, and institutional reforms aimed at reducing disparities in education. Good practices were shared on initiatives that enhance girls’ enrollment, retention, and academic performance at all levels of education. The women parliamentarians underlined the importance of strengthening policy frameworks, investing in teacher training, and expanding digital learning opportunities to ensure sustained progress. The role of TURKPA as a vital interparliamentary platform for the exchange of legislative experience and coordination of efforts to promote women and men equality in education was reaffirmed during the meeting. The Group adopted its relevant Report and Recommendations and decided that its Fifth Meeting would be convened in the Kyrgyz Republic, to be held within the framework of the Fifteenth Plenary Session of TURKPA, with the thematic focus duly determined.
