Experts Group elaborated draft Model Law “On clean energy in economic activity” within the framework of the Commission on Economic Cooperation

An Experts Group on elaboration of draft Model Law “On clean energy in economic activity” held its final third online meeting. The draft Model Law “On clean energy in economic activity” has been elaborated within the framework of the work plan of the Commission on Economic Cooperation for 2025 in accordance with the TURKPA Strategic Roadmap 2023-2028. The Experts Group, consisting of representatives of the TURKPA member countries and Secretariat, held its first meeting on January 21, 2025. The opening speech was addressed by Talgat Aduov, Deputy Secretary General. In his speech, Mr. Aduov emphasized the importance of shaping a common legal space in the TURKPA region to contribute to the integration processes among the Turkic World. The Experts Group held a total of three online meetings for development the above-mentioned draft Model Law. The meetings were focused on the exchanging views over the draft document. Bauyrzhan Datkayev, Secretary of the Commission on Economic Cooperation, moderated these meetings, during which experts expressed their constructive proposals on the matter. At its third meeting, the Group finalized the final version of the document for consideration at the next meeting of the Commission on Economic Cooperation to be held on February 25, 2025 in Türkiye. The draft Model Law “On clean energy in economic activity” aims to regulate relations related to the support of the use of clean energy in economic activity in the TURKPA member states to achieve the goals set out in the provisions of the Paris Agreement adopted under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
