Mr. Hasan was born on 23 September 1978.He holds Bachelor’s Degree from Faculty of History of Baku State University and Master’s Degree from Faculty of International Relations of Baku State University.Mr. Hasan served as a Member and Deputy Chairman of the Garadagh Municipality (city of Baku) during 1999-2002. He was founder and co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Youth Friendship Society during 1999-2003.In 1999-2005, he was a member of the Political Council of the New Azerbaijan Party. From 2002 until January 2010 Mr. Hasan worked as a Head of the Department at the State Ministry on Affairs with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.He also served as the Chairman of Youth Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party (ruling party in Azerbaijan) from 2005 until 2010.Between 2008-2014 Mr. Hasan lectured “Contemporary Azerbaijani Foreign Policy” at the Faculty of International Relations of Baku State University.Mr. Ramil Hasan was elected as the first Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) at the first Plenary Session of the Assembly for a four year term held on 29 September 2009 in Baku.From 15 January 2010 until 1 October 2013, Mr. Hasan continued his activities as the Secretary General of TURKPA International Secretariat – Head of the diplomatic mission. Between November 2013 and January 2014 he attended Extensive Education Program in London on improvement of professional skills.In March 2014, Mr. Ramil Hasan was awarded a certificate of completion for the Senior Executive Fellows Program, Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Executive Education.Mr. Ramil Hasan was appointed the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) by the decision of the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye at the Fourth Summit meeting of the Organization of Turkic States held on June 5, 2014, upon the presentation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev.Mr. Hasan has a Diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the first class.In 2017, he was awarded with the Special Honor Medal by the prestigious Crans Montana Forum for his contribution to the development of multilateral cooperation.In 2017-2019, Mr. Hasan was elected as the Vice President of the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), leading international organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. He served as Vice President for two years.During the early Parliamentary elections held on 9 February 2020, Mr. Ramil Hasan was nominated by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party and elected as a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan.In connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, he was awarded the "Heydar Aliyev 100th Anniversary (1923-2023) Jubilee Medal" by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev in May 2024.He was re-elected as a Member (MP) of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan during the parliamentary elections held on September 1, 2024.Mr. Ramil Hasan was elected as the Secretary General of TURKPA in accordance with the decision of the Assembly, adopted on 12 June 2025 during the 14th Plenary Session of TURKPA. He assumed the duties of Secretary General of TURKPA from 15 October 2025.He is fluent in English, Russian and Turkish.Married, has a son and a daughter.
