Ninth Meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Environment, Natural Resources and Health Protection

The Ninth Meeting of the Commission on Environment, Natural Resources and Health Protection was held in an online format on 27 May 2024 hosted by the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main item of the meeting’s agenda was "Medical Waste Management in the TURKPA Member States".

The meeting was chaired by Ahliman Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Commission, member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Ahmet Zenbilci, Vice-Chairman of the Commission, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er and other members of the Commission made speeches during the event. The discussions focused on the areas of concern and priorities for future cooperation in the field of improvement of Medical Waste Management among TURKPA member states.

The Commission approved the Report, Recommendations and the draft Model Law “On the Restriction of the Use of Tobacco Products” presented accordingly by Ahmet Zenbilci, Vice-Chairman of the Commission, Ahliman Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Commission and Adil Valiyev, Head of the Social Legislation Department of the Milli Majlis. The documents will be submitted to the Thirteenth Plenary Session of TURKPA to take place on 5-6 June 2024 in Baku.

The Commission decided to held its next meeting in 2025 in the Kyrgyz Republic.
