Tenth Meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Environment, Natural Resources and Health Protection

On 14 March 2025, the Tenth meeting of the Commission on Environment, Natural Resources and Health Protection was held in Bishkek, hosted by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting focused on “Cooperation of TURKPA Member States on Environmental Sustainability and a Green World in the Context of the Sustainable Development Goals.”

The meeting was chaired by Ahliman Amiraslanov, member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the Commission.

During the opening ceremony, Ahliman Amiraslanov and other commission members — Duisenbay Turganov, member of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (online), Aysuluu Mamashova, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ahmet Zenbilci, Vice-Chairman of the Commission and member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Kadim Durmaz, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and Mehmet Süreyya Er, Secretary General of TURKPA delivered speeches.

Following the speeches, commission members discussed the items on the agenda.

The Report and Recommendations on the main topic of the commission meeting, that will be submitted to the 14th Plenary Session of TURKPA to be held in Kazakhstan, were reviewed and approved. Additionally, the Commission discussed and adopted the draft Model Law “On Environmental Education and Enlightenment of the Population”, that was presented by Adil Valiyev, head of the Social Legislation Department of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It was decided to hold the next 11th meeting of the Commission in Türkiye next year.

Furthermore, on 13 March 2025, during his visit to Bishkek, Ahliman Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Environment, Natural Resources and Health Protection, met with Vinera Raimbachayeva, Chairperson of the Social Policy Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Ahliman Amiraslanov stated that the Azerbaijani delegation had come to Kyrgyzstan to participate in the 10th meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Environment, Natural Resources and Health Protection and emphasized that interparliamentary cooperation within TURKPA contributes to advancing bilateral relations to a new level.

Vinera Raimbachayeva highlighted the development of bilateral relations in recent years and stressed that, like Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan also attaches great importance to integration. In this context, Vinera Raimbachayeva emphasized the importance of the interaction of the parliaments of the two countries within the framework of a single Turkic interparliamentary space – the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States.
