Statement by the Secretary General of TURKPA on the Occasion of Turkic States Cooperation Day and the 17th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Organization of Turkic States

On 3 October, the Turkic World commemorates Turkic States Cooperation Day and the 17th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement, which laid the foundation for the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Over the past seventeen years, the Organization of Turkic States has evolved into a comprehensive platform for cooperation across nearly 40 areas, transforming the historic, cultural and fraternal bonds of the Turkic peoples into concrete cooperation, solidarity and shared progress. This remarkable achievement has been made possible by the vision and leadership of our Heads of State, as well as the dedicated efforts of the Member and Observer States.

On this meaningful occasion, on behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States and in my personal capacity, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the peoples and Governments of the Member and Observer States, as well as to the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States

I wish the Organization continued success in advancing its noble mission and further strengthening unity, cooperation and solidarity among the Turkic States. I am confident that the fruitful cooperation between TURKPA and the OTS will continue to deepen and expand for the benefit of the Turkic World.
