Message of the TURKPA International Secretariat on the Day of Remembrance of Khojaly Genocide
28
Thirty-four years have passed since the tragic events of the night of 25–26 February 1992 in Khojaly, one of the gravest crimes in modern history, perpetrated with unimaginable cruelty by the armed forces of Armenia against Azerbaijani civilians. On that night, hundreds of Azerbaijani civilians were brutally killed as a result of the attack on Khojaly, while many others — including women, children, and elderly people — were taken hostage.
Despite the passage of time, the deep pain caused by the Khojaly tragedy has not faded. The memory of the innocent civilians who perished remains deeply engraved in the collective conscience of humanity, serving as a lasting reminder of the immense suffering they endured.
TURKPA respectfully commemorates the victims of the Khojaly genocide, offers prayers for the eternal peace of their souls, and reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the people and the state of Azerbaijan, honoring the memory of the innocent lives lost and once again condemning this heinous crime against humanity.
