Message of the Secretary General of TURKPA on 8 November – Victory Day

On behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) and on my own behalf, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of 8 November – Victory Day, which marks the historic restoration of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, justice and international law. This remarkable victory stands as a symbol of the nation’s unwavering will, unity and national spirit of the people of Azerbaijan, reflecting the enduring legacy of National Leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. This great Victory gained by the victorious Azerbaijani Army under the wise and determined leadership of H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief, has created an opportunity for the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region, and represents a glorious page in the modern history of the Turkic World, strengthening the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity that unite our nations. This day also reflects the devotion of the Azerbaijani people to peace, prosperity and reconstruction in the liberated territories. Today, liberated territories of Azerbaijan are being rapidly revived and restored. The participation of the brotherly Turkic States in the restoration and reconstruction processes in the liberated territories is a manifestation of the spirit of Turkic brotherhood and solidarity that underpins our cooperation. TURKPA once again expresses deep respect for the sacrifices made for this Victory and reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the strengthening of peace, cooperation, stability, and prosperity in the Turkic World. We commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan with deep respect and wish ghazis strong health, continued peace and progress to Azerbaijan and entire Turkic World.
