Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day of the Republic of Türkiye

19 May, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, is a Turkish national holiday honoring the beginning of the War of Independence and celebrating the nation’s youth through sporting and cultural events. It marks Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s arriving in Samsun on 19 May 1919 which is the pivotal moment that ignited the national liberation struggle. On the occasion of the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Republic of Türkiye and brotherly Turkish people.
