Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er participated in the event celebrating the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement on the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States and Turkic States Cooperation Day held on 3 October 2024 in Ankara, Türkiye. The event featured a panel discussion titled “The Current State and Future Prospects of Turkic Cooperation”, bringing together high-level officials, dignitaries, and stakeholders to exchange views on the achievements of Turkic cooperation and future initiatives aimed at strengthening this cooperation. The panelists who addressed the audience at the event included the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, Secretary General of TURKPA Mehmet Süreyya Er, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation (ITCHF) Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF) Baghdad Amreyev, Deputy Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sayit Yusuf and Secretary General of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) Adem Kula. In his speech, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er highlighted that Turkic cooperation was legacy of ancestors and genuine cooperation model of fraternal states based on shared roots, history, culture, language, traditions and values. He noted that further development of this cooperation and strengthening the Turkic unity and solidarity, was our sacred duty before past and future generations. Talking about the Turkic institutional cooperation, Secretary General noted that activities in all dimensions were of significance for successful development of this cooperation and in this context, stressed the unique role of each of Turkic Cooperation Organizations. Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er stated that the current state, experience and potential of Turkic cooperation allowed to look with confidence at the common future. “Political will and solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, our commonalities rooted in the depths of history create the reliable foundation for a bright and clear future. Taking strength from our unity, we will further strengthen the ties that bound us and will build the bright future together,” he added. A Questions and Answers session ensued, providing the audience with a valuable opportunity to interact directly with the panelists and pose their questions. The panel discussion was followed by a reception attended by high-ranking officials.
