TURKPA observers met with Chairperson of the Territorial Election Commission of Almaty city

On 21 August 2026, the Almaty Group of the TURKPA International Election Observation Mission held a meeting with Ms. Aigul Kalykova, Chairperson of the Territorial Election Commission of Almaty city, as part of its short-term observation of the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan scheduled for 23 August 2026.

Ms. Aigul Kalykova welcomed the Mission members and informed on the preparations for the elections. She informed that the voting in Almaty city at the upcoming parliamentary elections will be conducted in 670 polling stations. Ms. Kalykova replied to the questions of the Mission members regarding the electoral process.

The Mission members wished success in holding of the parliamentary elections in favor of the brotherly people of Kazakhstan.

The Almaty Group of the TURKPA IEOM includes Mr. Hikmat Mammadov, member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ulukbek Karybek Uulu, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Filiz Kılıç, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Mr. Bektur Bazakechov, Acting Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA, Mr. Kadir Yaman, Secretary of Commission of TURKPA, Mr. Azar Mammadov, Legal Officer of the TURKPA International Secretariat and Mr. Yunus Emre Ünal, Secretary of Delegation, staff member of the Department of Foreign Relations and Protocol of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
