TURKPA IEOM holds meetings with representatives of political parties in Almaty

On 20–21 August 2026, the Almaty Group of the TURKPA International Election Observation Mission held meetings with representatives of political parties contesting the elections as part of its short-term observation of the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan scheduled for 23 August 2026.

The Mission members met with representatives of the "Ak Zhol" Democratic Party of Kazakhstan, the "Baytaq" Green Party of Kazakhstan, the "Respublica" Party, the People’s Party of Kazakhstan, the "Auyl" Party, and the "Adilet" Party.

During the meetings, the representatives of the political parties informed the Mission members on their election platforms, their views on pre-election environment and expectations from the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The TURKPA International Election Observation Mission conducts its observation in the cities of Astana and Almaty of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Almaty Group of the TURKPA IEOM includes Mr. Hikmat Mammadov, member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ulukbek Karybek Uulu, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Filiz Kılıç, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Mr. Bektur Bazakechov, Acting Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA, Mr. Kadir Yaman, Secretary of Commission of TURKPA, Mr. Azar Mammadov, Legal Officer of the TURKPA International Secretariat and Mr. Yunus Emre Ünal, Secretary of Delegation, staff member of the Department of Foreign Relations and Protocol of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
