TURKPA attended First Turkic World Youth Forum

On 21-22 November 2024, TURKPA delegation led by Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er participated in the First Turkic World Youth Forum co-organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. At the opening ceremony of the Forum, Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, TURKPA Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki, Deputy Akim of Almaty Azamat Kaldybekov, Managing Director of the Department of International Cooperation of “Compatriots Fund” Yerzhan Mukash and high-achieving young activists delivered speeches. The grand opening ceremony continued with performances by young people from different parts of the Turkic World. Prior to the opening ceremony, TURKSOY exhibition was organized for the distinguished guests, where traditional food, handicrafts, dance and musical performances of the Turkic peoples, and a photo exhibition of Turkic youth were presented. After the opening ceremony of the Forum, high-ranking officials attended the opening ceremony of the “TURKSOY Media Education and Research” Center at the Faculty of Journalism of KazNU named after Al-Farabi. During the Forum, panel sessions such as “Motivational Interviews”, Discussion Session of Successful Youth of the Turkic World, “Common and individual problems of the Youth of the Turkic World”, and Meeting of Diaspora Youth were organized. In order to strengthen youth cooperation, “Youth Party”, Acquaintance Program and cultural programs were also held within the framework of the Forum. The Forum ended with a Gala Concert of students of KazNU named after Al-Farabi. It was decided that the next Forum would be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The First Turkic World Youth Forum brought together more than 200 young people from 25 countries. During the Forum, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er was accompanied by the Secretaries of Commission Bauyrzhan Datkayev and Nazgul Zholdoshova.
