Speaker of the Turkish Parliament H.E. Numan Kurtulmuş visits the TURKPA International Secretariat

On 23 June 2026, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT), Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş, visited the TURKPA International Secretariat during his official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).

Welcoming the distinguished guest, TURKPA Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan expressed his satisfaction with the visit and underscored the special significance attached to the visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Türkiye, one of the founding states of TURKPA, to the Organization’s International Secretariat.

The Secretary General briefed the Speaker on TURKPA’s recent activities and achievements, as well as its ongoing projects and forthcoming initiatives.

In turn, Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş highly commended TURKPA’s recent work and achievements, emphasizing that the Republic of Türkiye would continue to extend its comprehensive support to the Organization in the years ahead. He also conveyed his best wishes for TURKPA’s continued success.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretaries General Mr. Talgat Aduov and Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali, Commission Secretary Dr. Kadir Yaman, and Legal Officer Mr. Azar Mammadov.

The delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye included Mr. Şamil Ayrım, Member of Parliament for Istanbul (AK Parti) and Chairman of the Türkiye–Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group; Mr. Rıdvan Uz, Member of Parliament for Çanakkale (İYİ Parti) and Clerk Member of the Presidential Council of the GNAT; Mr. Emre Çalışkan, Member of Parliament for Nevşehir (AK Parti); Mr. Ahmet Erbaş, Member of Parliament for Kütahya (MHP); Mr. Aydın Demiröz, Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the GNAT; Ambassador Ahmet Aydın Doğan, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Protocol of the GNAT; Mr. Ahmet Özgür, Press Advisor to the Speaker of the GNAT, and Mr. Selman Ertürk, Head of Protocol of the GNAT. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Birol Akgün.
