TURKPA delegation meets with the Speaker of the Parliament of the TRNC

Delegation of the International Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), led by Mr. Bektur Bazakechov, Acting Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA, paid a visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at the invitation of Mr. Ziya Öztürkler, Speaker of the Parliament of the TRNC. Representing the TURKPA Secretary General, the delegation is participating in the commemorative events to be held from 19 to 21 July 2026 marking the 52nd anniversary of the 20 July Peace and Freedom Day.

On 19 July 2026, the delegation of the TURKPA International Secretariat met with H.E. Mr. Ziya Öztürkler, Speaker of the Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Held in a cordial atmosphere, the meeting provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on further strengthening cooperation between TURKPA and the TRNC, as well as on the future directions of the TRNC's engagement in TURKPA in its capacity as an observer.

Secretary of the TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations Dr. Kadir Yaman also attended the meeting.
