TURKPA and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace signed a Protocol of Intent

On 25 June 2026, the Secretary General of TURKPA, Ambassador Ramil Hasan, and the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), Mr. Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al-Jarwan, signed a Protocol of Intent outlining the principal areas of future cooperation between the two organizations.
Addressing the signing ceremony held at the TURKPA International Secretariat, the Secretary General underscored the importance of strengthening relations with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. He noted that the GCTP, which promotes friendship, mutual cooperation, peace, and stability, has concluded Protocols of Intent with more than 40 parliaments and international organizations worldwide. Ambassador Ramil Hasan emphasized that the Protocol constitutes a valuable and exemplary framework for cooperation between international parliamentary organizations and contributes to the advancement of parliamentary diplomacy.
The Secretary General further stated that the signed Protocol of Intent would significantly contribute to elevating relations between the parties to a new level and facilitate the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at promoting peace, mutual understanding, and stability both in the region and globally.
In his remarks, the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Mr. Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al-Jarwan, highlighted the importance the GCTP attaches to cooperation with TURKPA. Recalling that the Council has also signed Memoranda of Understanding with the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, founding members of TURKPA, he stressed that cooperation between the two international parliamentary organizations is of particular significance for advancing dialogue, mutual understanding, and global peace.
Emphasizing the importance of organizing joint international conferences and coordinating activities on various international platforms, Mr. Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al-Jarwan expressed confidence that the Protocol of Intent would further strengthen relations between the two organizations and create new opportunities for cooperation. He also wished both organizations continued success in their future endeavors.
The signing ceremony and meeting were attended on behalf of TURKPA by Deputy Secretaries General Mr. Talgat Aduov and Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali, Commission Secretary Dr. Kadir Yaman, and Legal Officer Mr. Azar Mammadov.
The delegation of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace included the President of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), Dr. Epainete Djangrang Sendé, the Secretary General of the IPTP, Prof. Dr. Zoran Ilievski, and Mr. Fahed Matar Ahmed Alafreet Alkuwaiti.
