On 24 th June 2026, TURKPA delegation headed by Deputy Secretary General Mr. Bektur Bazakechov and including Secretary of Commission Ms. Aynura Abutalibova took part in the International Conference entitled “New Trends in Oriental Maqom: The Harmony of Tradition and Innovation” organized within the framework of the 3rd Maqom Art Forum in Namangan, Uzbekistan.

The opening session was attended by Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Abdurazakov, Governor of Namangan, Mr. Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Mr. Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Mr. Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the International Organization for Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), and Ms. Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, along with Mr. Serdar Çam, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, Mr. Aybek Sydykov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Mr. Faridun Bobozoda, Deputy Minister of Culture of Tajikistan, Mr. Salkyn Sarnogoyeva, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, and officials of International organisations.

Delivering congratulatory address, Deputy Secretary General Mr. Bazakechov pointed out relationship between tradition and innovation in Eastern maqam music, emphasized that maqam is not merely a musical genre but a profound artistic tradition embodying the philosophical, aesthetic, and spiritual heritage of Turkic peoples across generations. He stated that TURKPA reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and promoting this shared cultural legacy, highlighting the role of digital technologies, music education, and international cooperation in ensuring maqam’s sustainable development in the 21st century.

Delegation of TURKPA also attended the ceremonial opening of "Andijan – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026."
