TURKPA attends APCEA Working Meeting in Astana

On 22 August 2026, a TURKPA delegation led by Deputy Secretary General Mr. Muhammet Alper Hayali participated in the Working Meeting of the Advisory Platform of Central Election Authorities of the OTS Member States (APCEA), held in Astana as part of the international election observation programme for the elections of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for 23 August 2026.

Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Nurlan Abdirov delivered the opening remarks.

Heads and representatives of the Central Election Authorities of the Turkic States, as well as representatives of international organizations, participated in the meeting, delivering presentations and sharing their national experiences in organizing and conducting electoral processes.

Participants welcomed the APCEA Action Plan for 2025–2027 and discussed the preparation of a collective monograph on the electoral systems of the OTS Member States.

The Working Meeting also featured the presentation of the compendium “Electoral Systems of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States” and the endorsement of the Principles for Preventing and Mitigating Risks Associated with the Use of Deepfakes in the Electoral Sphere.

Deputy Secretary General Mr. Hayali was accompanied at the meeting by Commission Secretaries Ms. Aynura Abutalibova and Mr. Bauyrzhan Datkayev.
