TURKPA Young Parliamentarians participated in OSCE PA Network of Young Parliamentarians programme in Andorra
On 6 October 2026, members of the TURKPA Young Parliamentarians Group participated in the programme organized by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Network of Young Parliamentarians (NYP) in Andorra, held on the margins of the 24th Autumn Meeting of the OSCE PA.
The TURKPA delegation included Mr. Bakhtiyar Kalpayev, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and Mr. Emre Çalışkan, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, accompanied by Ms. Aynura Abutalibova, Executive Secretary of the TURKPA Women Parliamentarians Group and Secretary of Commission.
The event brought together 12 young parliamentarians from across the OSCE region for discussions on innovation and entrepreneurship, youth participation, and the role of young people in political and public life.
Head of the Andorran Delegation to the OSCE PA, member of the Network of Young Parliamentarians Ms. Meritxell López Guitart welcomed the participating young parliamentarians and delivered welcoming remarks, highlighting the importance of exchanging experiences and strengthening opportunities for young people.
As part of the programme, the participants visited Andorra Business, the government agency responsible for implementing the country’s national strategy and roadmap on innovation and entrepreneurship. They learned about Andorra’s approach to fostering innovation and exchanged views and experiences on ways parliamentarians can support entrepreneurship and create greater opportunities for young people.
The programme continued at the University of Andorra in Sant Julià de Lòria, where the young parliamentarians joined students participating in a Model OSCE workshop. During an interactive discussion, the participants shared their experiences and perspectives on being young parliamentarians, discussed youth policies, and exchanged views with students on the opportunities and challenges facing young people seeking to participate in political and public life.
The programme highlighted the importance of strengthening youth participation in political and public life and ensuring that the perspectives of young people are reflected in parliamentary discussions and policymaking.
