TURKPA Secretary General receives CECECO Executive Director

On 10 March 2026, TURKPA Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan received a delegation headed by the Executive Director of the Clean Energy Center for the ECO Region (CECECO), Aysel Yagubova.

Expressing deepest gratitude for the warm reception, Ms. Yagubova provided detailed information about the formation of CECECO and highlighted the long-standing connections between the ECO and the Turkic states. She also underscored the significance of the energy sector for the Turkic world, emphasizing the importance of developing renewable energy sources in the region.

In turn, Ambassador Hasan highlighted the contribution of TURKPA Member States to the establishment of the legal framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). He also emphasized the strategic role of the TURKPA Member States in supporting energy security in Europe. In this regard, the Secretary General provided an overview of the work carried out by TURKPA Permanent Commissions in this field.

The parties also noted that differences between national legislative systems can sometimes pose challenges to implementing new projects and establishing norms in the energy sector. Accordingly, it was agreed to undertake joint work on Model Laws concerning the energy sector and natural resources, with the possibility of inviting CECECO experts to observe the upcoming Commission meetings.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Secretary General Talgat Aduov, Secretary of the Commission Aynura Abutalibova, and Public Relations Officer Fidan Majidli on behalf of TURKPA, as well as Media and Communications Officer Asif Mammadzade and Project Coordinator Nigar Shukurova from CECECO.
