TURKPA Secretary General attends the 60th Anniversary Plenary Session of the IPA CIS

On 22 May 2026, TURKPA Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan attended and addressed the 60th Anniversary Plenary Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) held in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.

The plenary session was attended by the Speakers of the Parliaments of the Turkic States—Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan—alongside H.E. Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, representing the host country.

Attending at the invitation of the Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Mr. Dmitri Kobitski, Ambassador Hasan congratulated the leadership and participants on the milestone anniversary. He commended the enduring cooperation between TURKPA and the IPA CIS, which has been developing since 2010.

In his address, Ambassador Hasan highlighted the active engagement of TURKPA member states, particularly Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, within the IPA CIS framework. He emphasized that the partnership between the two organizations, anchored in mutual respect and parliamentary diplomacy, serves for ensuring regional peace and prosperity.

The Secretary General was accompanied by the Chief of Protocol Mr. Yadigar Mammadov.
