On 3 February 2026, a delegation from the Mangystau Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, composed of young deputies and active youth leaders, visited the International Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) within the framework of a visit to Baku.
The Secretary General of TURKPA Ambassador Ramil Hasan welcomed the delegation and provided them with information on the Secretariat’s current and upcoming activities.
Ambassador Hasan highlighted the growing relevance of Turkic cooperation and noted that since its establishment in 2008, TURKPA has fostered political, economic, and cultural collaboration among Turkic states. He outlined upcoming economic initiatives emphasizing integration for sustainable development and referred to ongoing cultural cooperation, including efforts by the Turkic Academy to promote linguistic unity, while noting the role of parliamentary coordination in Kazakhstan’s reform agenda.
In turn, the head of the Mangystau delegation, Chairman of the Munaily District Maslikhat, Mr. Berik Bilyalov, expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm reception. He emphasized that a well-functioning legislative system is one of the key factors for regional development and highlighted the crucial role of digitalization in advancing economic integration across the entire Turkic region.
During the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that joint events supported by TURKPA would further enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation. They also exchanged views on ongoing political reforms in Kazakhstan, including the transition toward a unicameral parliamentary structure.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Secretary General Mr. Talgat Aduov, Secretaries of Commissions Mr. Bauyrzhan Datkayev and Ms. Aigerim Taalaibekova, Chief of Protocol Mr. Yadigar Mammadov, Assistant to the Secretary General Ms. Takhmina Bakieva, and Public Relations Officer Ms. Fidan Majidli.
