Head of Senate of Uzbek Parliament received TURKPA EOM

On 26 October 2024, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva received the TURKPA Election Observation Mission taking part in the monitoring process of the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan.
Welcoming the Mission, Tanzila Narbayeva said that it was a great honor to see the TURKPA delegation among the international observers.
Noting the significance of the parliamentary elections being held under a new mixed electoral system, Head of Senate evaluated them as an important political event.
The members of the Mission informed on their activities and wished every success in holding the upcoming elections.
During the meeting, issues related to the further development of mutual cooperation with the parliaments of the Turkic states and participation of Uzbekistan in the activities of TURKPA were also discussed.
The TURKPA Election Observation Mission is composed of the parliamentarians from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye – Ahliman Amiraslanov, Aghalar Valiyev (Azerbaijan), Kudaibergen Bexultanov (Kazakhstan), Azizbek Tursunbaev (Kyrgyzstan), Osman Mesten, Mahmut Rıdvan Nazırlı, Kadim Durmaz, Harun Özgür Yıldızlı, Filiz Kılıç, Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu (Türkiye), TURKPA Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er, parliamentary staff members and other representatives of the TURKPA Secretariat. The Mission is headed by the member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Osman Mesten.
