Graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law. Lawyer.

Worked as a public lawyer and freelance lawyer. Provincial chairman of Virtue Party and Felicity Party. For three terms between 2004-2018 was elected as Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality. During that time also served as the President of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye, Co-Presidency of the Union of World Municipalities (UCLG), Member of the Turkish National Delegation to the Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Governments (CLCLG), Member of the Board of Directors of the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities (OICC). Founding Member and Board Member of the Silk Road Cities Union, President of the Union of Municipalities of Anatolian Civilizations.

Elected as Konya deputy of the GNAT of the he twenty-seventh and he twenty-eighth convocations. Worked as a member of the AK Party Central Decision and Executive Committee and as the Chairman of the GNAT Public Works, Zoning, Transportation and Tourism Commission. Member of the Environment Commission.
