TURKPA observation mission started its program in Turkey

On 29 October 2015, observation mission of TURKPA arrived in Ankara to conduct a short-term monitoring of repeat parliamentary elections to be held on 1 November 2015 in Turkey. The mission is led by Mr. Ayaz Orujev, member of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan, Mr. Akylbek Sultanov, member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic accompanied by the representatives of the staff of the Azerbaijani parliament and representatives of the TURKPA Secretariat.

On 30 October, the mission held meetings with Mr. Sadi Güven, the Chairman of the High Election Board, Mr. Zühtü Arslan, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court, as well as with the representatives of political parties. Thus, observers met with Mr. Ahmet Iyimaya from of the Justice and Development Party (Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi, AKP), Mr .Levent Gok from the Republican Peoples Party (Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi, CHP) and Mr. Sefkat Cetin from the Nationalist Movement Party (Milliyetci Hareket Partisi).

On 2 November, observation mission will hold a press conference on the conclusions of the parliamentary elections.

TURKPA mission observed in Turkey 2011 parliamentary elections, 2014 presidential elections and last parliamentary election held on 7 June 2015.
