Introduction of the final projects of Mimar Sinan International Project Olympiads was held in Ankara

On 27 January 2017, the final projects of Architect Sinan International Project Olympics were announced by the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World in Ankara, Turkey.

During his speech Minister of Environment and Urbanization of Turkey Mr Mehmet Ceylan said that the main aim of the Union, which has representatives at national and international level, was to produce projects that would ensure development of the Turkic world and related communities.

Mr Ceylan noted that various activities were organized at the international and national level during the 15 years since the foundation of the Union and the 7th Urbanisation Congress will be held in Baku.

Giving information on railway projects Turkish State Railways General Manager Mr İsa Apaydın noted that historical and cultural ties will develop through the rail links of Kars-Tbilisi-Baku Railway, Ankara-Sivas High Speed Railway, Marmaray and Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge.

President of the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World Mr Arif Özkaldı also stated that the Union, founded in 2002, has representations not only in Turkey but also in 36 countries of the world.

After the speeches, the names of the final projects in different 5 categories were announced.

Deputy Secretary General of TurkPA Kurşad Melih Sarıarslan and Commission Secretary Emin Hasanov attended the gathering.
