On 6 February 2024, the TURKPA Election Observation Mission led by the Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Osman Mesten held meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the Mission about the preparations for the early presidential elections and the measures carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this context. He underlined historical significance of the electoral process conducted, for the first time, in the entire territory of the country after the restoration of sovereignty and noted that 26 polling stations were established in the liberated territories.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the significant role of TURKPA and parliamentary diplomacy in the development of relations between Turkic states and in expanding cooperation in various fields.
TURKPA observers expressed satisfaction to observe presidential election held, for the first time, after the victory gained by Azerbaijan as a result of 44-day Patriotic War as well as the full restoration of sovereignty and belief that the results of the election would have an important role in further development of the country.
