TURKPA delegation led by Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er took part at the Fourth Meeting of Coordination Committee of Turkic Cooperation Organizations held on 19 January 2024 in Istanbul. Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, President of the International Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova as well as other representatives of Turkic Cooperation Organizations attended the meeting.
In his speech at the meeting, Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er noted that each of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations fulfilled the tasks set by multilateral cooperation in the direction of its activity, and carried out purposeful and systematic work aimed at the strengthening and further development of comprehensive relations among Turkic states. In this context, he expressed that as the parliamentary dimension of Turkic cooperation and inter-parliamentary cooperation platform, TURKPA contributed to the close interaction of parliaments with its cooperative mechanisms and tools.
The participants informed on the activities of their respective organizations over the last period. They stressed the importance of better coordination and close cooperation to avoid duplication of activities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possible joint activities and an action plan of joint activities for 2024.
