TURKPA participated in the 14th Bosphorus Summit

On November 16-17 2023, Chairman of TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations Osman Mesten and Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er took part in the 14th Bosphorus Summit in Istanbul. Organized by the International Cooperation Platform UIP under the theme Navigating the Next Century: Challenges and Promises, the event was attended by leaders and professionals from a wide range of fields including business, politics, academia and culture.

Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er participated as a panelist in the panel titled " Centennial of the Turkic World" organized as part of the summit, where he discussed the issue of Turkic Union in a comparative perspective and provided information on TURKPA's activities that have been expanding and developing year by year. Osman Mesten, Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations, delivered the opening speech of the same panel and discussed the place of Turkic Cooperation on a global scale in the context of cooperation institutions.

Azerbaijani MP Ganire Pashayeva, who recently passed away, was also commemorated at the panel and footage of her speech at a meeting in Türkiye was presented to the participants.

The panel, moderated by UIP Executive Board Member Gözde Dizdar, ended with the presentation of certificates of appreciation as well as the documents regarding the trees planted in their names in the commemorative forest to the speakers by Cengiz Özgencil, the founder of the platform.

During the two-day 14th Bosphorus Summit, nearly 30 panels were held in the fields of international relations, security, economy, finance, investment, banking, sports, education, energy, climate, environment, urbanism, agriculture, art, media, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cyber security, archaeology, history, law and medicine.
