On 15 November 2023, the TURKPA delegation led by the Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er took part at the events dedicated to the 40th Anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
The program of the events began with the wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Lefkoşa. Following the ceremony, the official parade was held in Fazıl Küçük Boulevard. President of the TRNC Ersin Tatar, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz, Chairman of the Assembly of the TRNC Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister of the TRNC Ünal Üstel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the TRNC Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Chief of General Staff of the Republic of Türkiye, General Metin Gürak, members of the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, as well as other officials attended the parade.
Delivering the speech at the event, President Ersin Tatar stated that Turkish Cypriots being inseparable part of the Turkish Nation will forever remain in the Eastern Mediterranean as an unquenchable torch which expresses the independence, freedom and liberty of the TRNC.
As a part of the program, the guests also attented the opening ceremony of the Turkish Cypriots’ History, Culture and National Struggle Museum.
The demonstration of the Turkish Air Force Aerobatic Team “Turkish Stars” was performed for the participants.
The program of the events was concluded by the Official Reception on behalf of the TRNC President Ersin Tatar.
