On 27 October 2023, Acting Deputy Secretary General Saky Sadykov and Secretary of the Commission on Economic Cooperation Bauyrzhan Datkayev took part at the international conference jointly organized by the Turkic Academy, The Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University under the title “The Integrative Role of the Common Turkic Alphabet: Scientific and Social Aspects” in Almaty.
Representatives of several organizations uniting Turkic peoples, linguists, turkologists and experts in linguistics participated at the conference and discussed the issues of harmonizing the alphabets of Turkic countries.
Speaking at the event Mr. Sadykov emphasized the importance of integrating Turkic alphabets and pointed out that harmonizing the alphabets of Turkic countries will require the joint scientific work of language scientists, linguists and turkologists, and said that the alphabetic, linguistic, and special features of all Turkic peoples should be taken into account in this direction.
During the conference, representatives of Turkic Cooperation Organizations, diplomats, scientists of language institutes shared their opinions on the matter.
At the end of the conference, the representatives of the international organizations participating in the meeting adopted a resolution consisting of 6 parts. The resolution mainly includes measures to be taken in order to further strengthen linguistic and cultural values, socio-economic ties between Turkic peoples, procedures and requirements for developing a unified alphabet.
