On 4-5 October 2023, Deputy Secretary General Fuad Alakbarov and Secretary of the Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations Kadir Yaman participated in the meetings in Vienna organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) with the support of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar, and in cooperation with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA).

President of the Austrian National Council Wolfgang Sobotka, member of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar Dr. Ali bin Fetais Almarri, OSCE PA Vice-President, Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Countering Terrorism and Coordination Mechanism of Parliamentary Assemblies Reinhold Lopatka and the Director of UN Counter-Terrorism Centre Mauro Miedico delivered opening remarks at the event. Delegates from sixteen parliamentary assemblies, representing a wide geographical area took part in the event.

The TURKPA delegation participated in the sessions within the framework of the Fourth Counter-Terrorism Coordination Meeting on cooperation in preventing and countering terrorism aimed at enhancing collaboration among parliamentary assemblies and the Second Parliamentary Policy Dialogue on Prevention and Countering of Violent Extremism.

The discussions focused on the issues related to countering terrorism and violent extremism. TURKPA delegation informed about the work within the frame of the Assembly in this direction.

On the margins of the event, TURKPA delegation met with Prof. Dr. Kamil Aydın, member of the Turkish delegation to the OSCE PA, Vice-Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on Countering Terrorism.

The program also included a visit to the building of the Austrian National Council.
