On 2 February 2018, Chairman of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Nurlan Nigmatulin and Chairman of Milli Mejlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ogtay Asadov visited the TURKPA Secretariat.

The dignitaries were welcomed by the TURKPA Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov and Deputy Secretaries Generals Mr. Fuad Alakbarov, Mr. Nauryz Aidarov and Mr. Ali Yildiz in their capacity of the representatives of the parliaments respectively of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey.

The guests got acquainted with the photo stand at the Secretariat’s hall and with the new library, where the books of prominent authors, colourful albums reflecting friendship and cooperation among the Turkic countries and souvenirs with the national symbols were exposed.

In the course of the visit, Secretary General informed heads of the parliaments about TURKPA’s current and future activities and particularly emphasized the forthcoming 10th anniversary of the TURKPA’s founding.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Nurlan Nigmatulin and Mr. Ogtay Asadov took part in a tree-planting ceremony at the Secretariat’s inner courtyard.

The chairs of the parliaments were accompanied by the parliamentarians of both countries, including the members of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan parliamentary friendship groups.
