The Seventeenth Winter Meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCEPA) took place on 22-23 February 2018 in Vienna, at the OSCE Headquarters in Hofburg Palace.
Meeting's main debates were dedicated to the issues, such as "fake news", climate change, terrorism, migration and arms control. The parliamentarians of the OSCE member states have also discussed the need for improving the level of dialogue in the times of heightened international tensions.
Secretary General Altynbek Mamaiusupov participated, as a guest, in the OSCEPA Winter Meeting and met with members of the delegations of the TURKPA member countries to the OSCEPA, and also with Mr. Boriy Alikhanov, Vice Chairman of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan and head of the Uzbekistani delegation to the OSCEPA.
On the meeting's sidelines, Mr. Mamaiusupov met with Mr. Roberto Montella, OSCEPA Secretary General, and with Ambassador Andreas Nothelle, Special Representative of the OSCEPA in Vienna. The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between the OSCEPA and TURKPA and exchanged views on developing mechanisms of cooperation in concrete fields.
