On 29 August 2018, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) Mr. Binali Yildirim and Chairman of Milli Mejlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ogtay Asadov paid visit to the TURKPA Secretariat.

The dignitaries were welcomed by the TURKPA Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov and Deputy Secretaries General Mr. Fuad Alakbarov, Mr. Nauryz Aidarov and Mr. Ali Yildiz.

Secretary General informed heads of the parliaments about TURKPA’s current and future activities, including also preparations for the upcoming Eighth Plenary Session of TURKPA to take place in Turkey in November marking also TURKPA’s 10th anniversary.

In the course of the visit, guests were given exposure of the Secretariat’s building and the new library, where the books of prominent authors, colourful albums reflecting friendship and cooperation among the Turkic countries and souvenirs with the national symbols have been presented.

During the visit, Mr. Binali Yildirim and Mr. Ogtay Asadov took part in a tree-planting ceremony at the Secretariat’s inner courtyard.

The chairs of the parliaments were accompanied by the parliamentarians of both countries.
