Secretary General met with Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs

In the framework of his working visit to Bishkek, on 4 February 2019, Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov was received by Mr. Chingiz Aidarbekov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Mr. Aidarbekov highly appreciated the contribution of TURKPA to the strengthening of relations among the member countries through parliamentary diplomacy. Noting the need for close cooperation among Turkic cooperation institutions, Mr. Aidarbekov stressed that the Ministry would render a full support to the activities of the Assembly during the Chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Turkic Council.

In his turn, expressing his gratitude for support given to the activities of TURKPA, Mr. Mamaiusupov informed Minister on the future activities of the organisation. Secretary General noted that TURKPA would continue to enhance cooperation with other international organisations acting of the region.

In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation within the Parliamentary Assembly, activities implemented during the Chairmanship of the Jogorku Kenesh in TURKPA in 2018, cooperation with other institutions and exchanged views on other topical issues of Turkic cooperation agenda.

TURKPA Deputy Secretary General Mr. Ali Yıldız also attended the meeting.
