On 19 April 2019, TURKPA delegation led by the Secretary General Mr. Altynbek Mamaiusupov attended the 49th Plenary Session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly held at the Tavrichesky Palace in St. Petersburg.

Parliamentary delegations from the IPA CIS member countries, representatives of international organizations and academic circles participated in the Session.

Following the opening speeches, rapporteurs presented model laws prepared by the members of the IPA CIS permanent commissions and experts. Plenary Session was concluded by a press conference with participation of the members of the IPA CIS Council.

On the sidelines of the events of the IPA CIS Plenary Session, Secretary General met with Mr. Ogtai Asadov, Chairman of Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Dariga Nazarbayeva, Chairperson of Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Chairman of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as members of the delegations from TURKPA member countries and other dignitaries.

During the events of the Session, Secretary General was accompanied by Mr. Nauryz Aidarov, TURKPA Deputy Secretary General.

At the same time, heads of the TURKPA member parliaments held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Session.
