TURKPA Deputy Secretary General Ali Yıldız delivered a speech during the online video conference commemorating the 175th anniversary of the great poet, writer, philosopher Abai Qunanbaiuly and the 10th anniversary of the International Turkic Academy on 21 May 2020.

The theme of the conference was “Abai and the 21st Century: Continuity over Time”. The conference brought together ministers, representatives of international organisations and academic communities.

Noting the particular importance of Abai’s creativity in Kazakh literature, Mr. Yıldız stressed the relevance of Abai’s ideas to the contemporary world. In this context, Mr. Yıldız highly appreciated the role of the Turkic Academy in promoting the work of eminent personalities and common values of Turkic-speaking nations that in its turn, increases the visibility of the Turkic World. Mr. Yıldız extended his sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Turkic Academy and wished success in future activities.
